A battery is a device that stores chemical energy. This stored chemical energy is transformed into electrical energy in the form of a direct current (DC). Generally the life of a laptop battery is two to five hours, but if the laptop is being used very extensively, the life may get reduced to as little as one hour. The chemicals that are used inside the battery are usually degenerated when the life of the battery drops. It then needs to be replaced. Lithium ion laptop batteries can live long for one to five years. It depends greatly on the extent to which it is used.

Ultimately, the most important aspect of the laptop is it’s ability to be mobile. This is why the batteries are so important. Most laptops come with one or two batteries or you can purchase an extra battery later. Most laptops batteries last from 2-4 hours when fully charged. Depending on the type of laptop and battery you have, it may be more or less.
